How do I get my dog used to wearing the Halo?Updated 4 months ago

Every dog is unique in how they adapt to the Muffin's Halo, and we have a few suggestions for you to help you get your pup used to wearing it.

It's quite common for dogs to exhibit reluctance at first. Please start by only putting the harness on your dog and let him get used to having just that on. The harness usually makes dogs feel cuddled and eases their anxiety.

Once your dog is used to it, you can put the wing and halo on next while having your dog close to a corner so they can bump into something immediately to understand how it works. It is different for each dog, but most pups adapt quickly after hesitating at first.

After you put your dog in a corner area, we highly recommend clapping or stomping your feet to startle them a little so your pup can bump into the wall and bounce off it (be redirected). You can also throw a treat into the corner and let them go after it.

Your dog will quickly understand what the Muffin's Halo is for instead of walking around aimlessly in the middle of a room. The sooner they bump into something, the quicker the “Aha!” moment comes.
